Owner/Composer

Timothy L. Osborne

Timothy L. Osborne grew up in Union City, a small town in Southern Michigan.

In fifth grade, Tim chose band as one of his classes. After taking a music assessment test, the band teacher pulled Tim aside and told him that he wouldn't do well in band, based on his assessment score. Although the school couldn't force him not to take band. From sixth grade through high school, Tim received "A's" on every report card for band as a tuba player.

A few years after learning to play the tuba, Tim wanted to take piano lessons as he had watched his older sister take weekly lessons and play in several recitals. His parents wouldn't let him take piano lessons unless he was able to bring his math grade up. Tim did not get "A's" on his report card for math class, ever! Unable to take lessons, Tim began looking through the books his sister was learning from, learned the keys on the piano, learned to create chords and  around age twelve, Tim composed his first solo piano piece. He is very glad that song was never heard by anyone.

Years went by, playing the tuba and continuing learning the piano on his own. A year after graduating high school, Tim joined the Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman.

The Navy trained Tim as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman - meaning all of his sea duty was with a Marine Unit. Eleven years in the Navy, Eleven days spent on a ship.

In 1994, Tim was selected to provide medical support to scientists and support staff in McMurdo Station, Antarctica as part of Operation Deep Freeze. He was also selected to return the following year.

The chapel, 'Chapel of the Snows', had a piano and Tim played it nearly every day. Making friends with the Chaplin, a group of five created The Ross Island Brass. Of course, Tim played the Tuba. He helped arrange music for this group. They played during services and went to different work spaces and performed Christmas music to spread Christmas Cheer. Tim's future wife was the trumpet / horn player for the group.

After eleven years in the Navy, Tim was honorably separated for medical reasons. Years later, he developed colon cancer. After several years recovering from major surgery to remove a large tumor that contained the cancer, Tim found himself without a direction in life. He turned to music and at some point decided he wanted to be a Film Composer.

Over the years he has scored short films and most recently composed the score for the feature film drama, The Godfather Buck. Currently he is focused on composing a solo piano album, Leaves Falling Through Sunlight, that will be released later this year.

Tim currently lives near Seattle, Washington with his wife. Their two children have  moved on to their own lives. He is self employed and started his own music production company, Adelie Music Productions. He spends his days in his private studio. When not composing or playing the piano, he is having adventures with his wife. They recently started kayaking.
